owlet smart sock 2
so we can all agree that we don’t get much sleep with a newborn, right?! and we get even less sleep when we are worried about whether our baby is breathing or not. raise your hand if you’ve been so paranoid that you’ve put your finger under their nose to feel air come out, or placed your hand on their chest to make sure it was rising up and down? yep, that was me!
i am so excited to be teaming up with Owlet to share with you all their newest product, the Owlet Smart Sock 2! it is unbelievable the products that continue to come out each year that give parents a little less anxiety of their baby’s health. i remember as a first time mom, buying something for Tenley that attached to her diaper, now there is a sock- SO much easier!
what exactly is the Owlet 2?! it is a sock that can be worn on either foot and is designed to notify you if your baby’s heart rate or blood oxygen levels fall outside the preset zones. all of this information goes straight to your phone using the Owlet app. the base station sits next to you at night and lights up with colors, green and red. as long as your baby’s levels are within the preset zone, it stays green. but if at any time they fall outside of that zone, it is designed to turn red with an audible alarm on the base station and on your phone’s app! (there are other notifications that play a lullaby-like sound if the bluetooth connection is lost or if the sock is not properly placed and can’t get a reading.)
now you might be thinking, as i did before, that this product may cause you even more anxiety. fair enough. but with their newest design, it has been updated to reduce the number of false notifications that may occur.
as a mother/baby nurse, i am trained to teach all of my patients the importance of safe sleep. we can only do so much as parents to prevent the unthinkable from happening. the Owlet Smart Sock 2 gives us that extra piece of mind.
XOXO,
Lauren

it is amazing the new technology that is constantly coming out. I remember with my daughter (3) I did like you said in the post, putting my finger under the nose to make sure she was breathing. We have two children now… I too like you had two under 2. My daughter and son are 22 months apart. If we decide to have another I will definitely be getting an owlet because mama needs her sleep!!!
