the FIRST one!
well hello there and welcome to my very FIRST blog post!
I have debated on this blogging thing for a while now, a long while actually! I took the plunge and here we are, and so I guess this is the part where I start telling all of you a little bit about myself.
HI! My name is Lauren and I currently live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia with my helicopter flying husband, Ben, and our sassy daughter, Tenley. They say home is where the Navy sends you but I left a huge piece of my heart in Pensacola, Florida and I miss it every day.
Ben and I met on a blind date in 2011 (although you know I stalked his social media vigorously before showing up!). He proposed to me in Italy while visiting him on deployment. We got married on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in 2013. Without wasting time, we got pregnant with our Tenley girl and she was born in 2015. And we are due with our second in February!

I am a nurse and I work on the Mother/Baby unit with some of the best people! You come to us after you deliver and experience all that fun, postpartum stuff- if you know what I mean, moms?! I enjoy every second of it but am SO happy to get back to my baby by the end of my shift.

Hi Lauren,
I can’t believe I came across your blog but I am a new mom living in Virginia Beach. I am also a registered nurse at SHH in the Cardiac ICU. I recently started a blog called thecheekymommy.com and am trying to go all in with it. We live here due to my husband being in the navy as well. Seems like we have a lot in common! I read your blog post about the reality of IG and found it very helpful and informative. I am only about 1 month into doing this and it all started after i took my first class for nurse practitioner school and realized how much I enjoy writing. I have questioned what I am doing now many times trying to juggle blogging and grad school. I wonder can you truly make a decent income from blogging and still have a good life balance that doesn’t take away from your family? I am so interested to hear your take on this because we live such similar lives it seems.
